Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using VoterSaurus (a product of Stewart Digital Affairs), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the platform. We may update these terms at any time; continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
2. Permitted Use
VoterSaurus is designed exclusively for political, civic, and advocacy purposes. Permitted uses include:
- Political campaign outreach and voter communication
- Ballot measure advocacy
- Issue advocacy and civic engagement
- Nonpartisan voter education and community organizing
Prohibited uses: Commercial advertising, spam, marketing of products or services unrelated to political or civic purposes, reselling or redistributing voter data, voter harassment or intimidation, and any use that violates applicable law.
3. Voter Data
VoterSaurus does not provide direct access to voter data files. Users cannot download, export, or take possession of voter registration records. VoterSaurus is an email sending platform — not a data broker, reseller, or licensor of voter data. All voter data remains within the platform and is used solely to facilitate email delivery on behalf of the user.
VoterSaurus utilizes California voter registration data that is public record, maintained by the California Secretary of State and made available for political purposes under California Elections Code. By using this platform, you agree to the following:
- You will use voter data only for political, civic, or electoral purposes as permitted by California law.
- You will not attempt to download, scrape, extract, or export individual voter records from the platform.
- You will not resell, sublicense, or redistribute any voter data or voter counts obtained through VoterSaurus to any third party.
- You will not use voter data to harass, intimidate, or threaten any individual.
- You will not use voter data for commercial solicitation unrelated to political or civic activity.
- You acknowledge that misuse of voter data may violate California Elections Code and other applicable laws.
4. Email Sending and CAN-SPAM Compliance
All emails sent through VoterSaurus must comply with the CAN-SPAM Act and all applicable federal and state email regulations. You agree to:
- Include accurate sender information and a valid physical mailing address in all emails.
- Honor unsubscribe requests promptly (SendGrid handles this automatically, but you must not circumvent it).
- Not use deceptive subject lines or misleading header information.
- Not send emails to purchased or scraped lists outside of the VoterSaurus platform.
Email sending is subject to validation, deliverability standards, and domain warm-up requirements. We reserve the right to suspend sending privileges for any account that generates excessive bounces, spam complaints, or violates these terms.
5. California Election Law
You agree to comply with all applicable California election laws, including but not limited to FPPC reporting requirements, campaign finance disclosure rules, and the California Political Reform Act. VoterSaurus does not provide legal advice. It is your responsibility to ensure your use of the platform complies with all applicable laws and regulations.
6. Credits and Payment
VoterSaurus operates on a prepaid credit system. By purchasing credits, you agree to the following:
- Credits are non-refundable once purchased.
- Credits do not expire but may be forfeited if your account is terminated for misuse.
- Pricing is subject to change; purchased credits are honored at the rate in effect at the time of purchase.
- There is no guarantee of specific email delivery rates. Deliverability depends on many factors including domain reputation, content quality, and recipient behavior.
- Domain registration fees are non-refundable.
7. Account Responsibilities
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use. You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account and keep it updated.
8. AI-Generated Content
VoterSaurus offers AI-powered email draft generation as a convenience. You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and approving all content before sending. AI-generated drafts are suggestions only. We are not responsible for the accuracy, tone, or legal compliance of AI-generated content that you choose to send.
9. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account at our sole discretion, with or without notice, for any reason including but not limited to:
- Violation of these Terms of Service
- Misuse of voter data
- Sending spam or generating excessive complaints
- Using the platform for non-political commercial purposes
- Any activity that could harm the platform, its users, or its reputation
Upon termination, any remaining credits are forfeited.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
VoterSaurus is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any specific results will be achieved. Voter data is sourced from public records and may contain inaccuracies. We are not responsible for the accuracy or completeness of voter registration data.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Stewart Digital Affairs and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of VoterSaurus. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
12. Privacy
Your use of VoterSaurus is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Key commitments:
- We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
- Voter registration data is sourced from public records maintained by the California Secretary of State.
